A drink after a hard day’s work is best, especially, after dealing with a boss that you have to face daily. Stress is always expected in your workplace due to reports, presentations, and deadlines. The pressure from bosses may increase your stress.

Here are the various types of bosses:

“People ask the difference between a leader and a boss. The leader leads, and the boss drives.” — Theodore Roosevelt.

The Angry Bird

This type of boss is always angry. He yells like a madman and is always ready to fire an employee. You hate to be around this Hitler of a boss. When he is around, everyone is prepared for a world war.

THE Award Winning

Remember the type of boss who smiles and then suddenly surprises you with a failed work evaluation? He does threaten to fire you upfront. Rather, he pretends that all things are fine. Your delayed reports are good, but you’re actually near the target spot for a well-steamed memorandum.

The Playboy

This one hits on his female employees whenever he gets a chance. He likes flirting and flaunts his achievements to impress the ladies. The receptive ladies, then, fall into the trap only to realize that they are not the only ones to have been lured by the elusive playboy.

The Lead

This type of boss does not like to share credits of what good has been contributed to the work done. He takes all the praises and does not even acknowledge the staff’s teamwork. The feeling of getting ahead of everyone and doing it solo satisfies his ego.

The Know-it-all

Accepting his mistakes hurts his ego. He even twists the situation to shift the blame to you. His idea of being superior to you conditions his pride that if someone inferior corrects him, he is being degraded. Therefore, no matter how obvious his mistakes are to everybody, do not expect him to admit it.

The Phantom

Yo will never know where to find this boss. He is the type you wish you could track using Google map. He is always busy with something you have no idea about. His in-tray is always full. Be sure to have a ‘to do’ lists for him when he shows up because you never know when he’ll show up again.

The Buddy

Everybody likes this boss. He gets along, drinks, and even goes out with them. Often humble, caring less about the boundaries or invisible walls between a superior and the regular employees, he gives friendly advice to those in need of it but still acts as a boss when there is work to be done.

The Listener

Listening to what his employees think about makes his job easier. This type of boss is interested in what he can do for employees to give them a conducive working environment. The belief that a comfortable workplace would result in productivity makes him a wise and ideal boss.

Hot and Cold

Any staff member will first assess the mood of this boss before making an approach. He is not bad, but his mood affects his decision-making process and the way he interacts with people at work. At one time, you will tell him that you were unable to meet the deadline and he will still smile. The next time, you will close a deal, but he will show no trace of excitement about it because he didn’t sleep the night before.

Fresh

This boss lacks experience and self-confidence in his field. The boss needed the assistance of his employees to be familiar with how things work around the workplace. Nervous about his first encounter with reality, he might make mistakes at the beginning but will get used to everything with time. With his credentials, which made him qualify for the position, he will learn it in no time.

Dynasty

Regardless of the qualifications met, this boss was employed primarily because of family connections. It could be that the family is very much into the business and wants most of their family to practice a profession in the same field. Or maybe because they brought up in the business and their family is confident that they can easily work their way up.
